Best Emmy-Winning Comedy Series

Every show in here won the Primetime Emmy for the comedy series category at least once, and that is the whole entry requirement. Nobody was added for being beloved and nobody was cut for being forgotten, which is why a 1952 sketch show is standing next to Fleabag with a straight face.

The category has been renamed several times since 1952 and spent a couple of years not separating comedy from anything else, so a few winners fall outside it: the non-comedy winners of 1957 and 1965, when the awards were not split by genre, and 1960, which went to a one-off special instead of a series. Six more winners are missing for a duller reason. Nobody who owns them has put a clip online, and every card here uses footage from the people who hold the rights.
