Most Terrifying Ocean Creature

This is a bracket about fear rather than danger, and underwater those two things have almost nothing to do with each other.

The gap is enormous and worth carrying with you while voting. The great white is what everybody pictures first and kills a handful of people worldwide in an average year. The box jellyfish is nearly transparent, has no interest in you whatsoever, and ranks among the most venomous animals alive. The blue ringed octopus fits comfortably in a hand and carries enough toxin to kill several adults, with no antivenom available anywhere. Meanwhile the goblin shark looks like something from a nightmare and lives far too deep to ever encounter a person. Thirty-two creatures are in, and the framing is deliberately subjective: the one you least want to meet at forty metres with a finite amount of air.

Depth does a lot of quiet work in this bracket. Several of these animals are genuinely harmless to humans and win rounds anyway on appearance alone, which is a fair summary of how most people feel about the ocean generally.
