Mexican characters show up across every corner of popular media, and the ones that stuck tend to belong to one of a few very different traditions.
There is the Chespirito universe, a single vecindad of misfits that ran across Latin American television for decades and still airs somewhere every day. There are telenovela legends whose single scenes became memes in countries that never saw the show. There is Hollywood, from Pixar's Day of the Dead to the cartel figures of Albuquerque, and the comic book heroes who carry a mask or a flame. And then there are the fighting game rosters, which have never been short of luchadores.
The list is built from Wikipedia's category of fictional Mexican people, kept to the characters with an official video where they are front and centre. That leaves thirty-nine, spanning nine decades, from a singing cricket on the radio to a hero in Overwatch.
Expect strange matchups. A kid in a barrel may have to beat a robot from Tijuana, and a telenovela villain may end up facing a jaguar-masked wrestler.
