Would You Rather: Superpowers

A full roster of powers and you keep exactly one. Everything you knock out is gone permanently, which is what makes the later rounds unpleasant. The list separates into two kinds of wish and they are worth telling apart. Some powers are about capability — strength, speed, flight, weather control — and are only interesting if you intend to do something with them. Others are about escape, which is what teleportation, invisibility and time travel really offer. Immortality sits alone as the only entry that is arguably a punishment, and it wins rounds anyway because people are voting on the first half of it.

The bracket runs to thirty-two powers wide, presented plainly with no images, because pictures would only push the whole thing towards comic books.

Flight and teleportation tend to meet somewhere in the semi-finals and the match-up is more interesting than it looks. Flight is the one people want and teleportation is the one they would use, and almost everybody discovers which side of that they are on the moment the two appear together.
